Treatment Questions

The result of teeth whitening products is never permanent. Over time, your teeth will stain and discolor again. How long this takes depends among other things, on your lifestyle (use of wine, coffee and tobacco). Usually results are maintained for 12 to 20 months.

Yes, the dots are temporary, not dangerous and disappear within a few hours.

This is due to the bleaching of the peroxide gel. This is temporary and harmless. You can prevent this by washing your hands thoroughly with soap and water after use.

If you experience too much tooth sensitivity during or after using the Whitestrips, discontinue use for 2-3 days, then resume once a day. If you continue to experience problems, discontinue use or try a lower strength Whitestrip variant. There are several measures you can take to minimize tooth sensitivity. Approximately 1/3 to 1/2 of users experience some degree of tooth sensitivity or gum irritation during or after using the Whitestrips™. This is temporary and nothing to worry about. With teeth whitening with high concentrations of peroxide, as is usually done in clinics or dentists, patients can experience a lot of tooth pain that can last for a few days. Home whitening products such as the Crest Whitestrips™ are gentler on your teeth because they use a lower dose of peroxide. However, it requires a longer treatment period to achieve the desired result. Recently, the consumer association has stated that whitening at home is better than in a clinic or dentist, because the user can dose the treatment himself.

Crest Whitestrips™ only work on natural teeth. The strips will not work on crowns, fillings and other dental work. Consult your dentist first if you want to use the strips and have just had dental work done or still need to have it done. Do not use the strips while wearing braces.
